I'm a teenager and I heard that you can actually get paid for things like this. I'm experienced with computers and have good literature skills and I'm sure I can write successful blogs/articles.. . On a different (sort of) topic, would I be able to join affiliate programs?.

Awesome post - as much as The Office is a "slice of life" kinda show to generate what you described so correctly, "cringe-worthy" moments, deep down - Michael Scott cared greatly about his employees and everything he did was for the success of the branch and his for employees. Yes, execution was off - hey, that's why it's a great comedy right?

There is a tipping point in advertising that apparently AT&T has forgotten. It's called "viewer ad fatigue". It's the point at which the commerical has become so endlessly repetitive that it's no longer amusing--just relentlessly annoying. At that point, you've forgotten what company the ad is for, because you've become intently focused on diving for the mute button. Progressive Insurance has figured that out, & that's why they retire the ads that become tiresome, & come out with new stuff. If AT&T doesn't have the advertising budget to do anything but produce one endless ad that's irritating beyond distraction, what kind of money do they have to put into their service?

Thanks Dmitriy! The Netflix incident is certainly a great example and yes, not all companies are equally positioned today to equally leverage social media. Perhaps linking social media into more markets-immersed information systems such as Bloomberg terminals could be a good start. The question then is whether to require that all companies disclose investor-related announcements through social media in addition to their other methods on the premise that news travels fastest through social media.

Excellent insights, Sean. I don't think automated trading is going anywhere, but there is definitely potential for more social media interaction in the financial world. Case in point, Netflix CEO Reed Hastings posting a Facebook update about how well the company is doing. But not all public companies have as strong of a public profile as Netflix so that raises the question of what's next? Facebook is too informal, Twitter is too public and LinkedIn lacks the functionality to connect companies with their investors/shareholders. I'm not sure the right medium exists yet.

These commercials have done nothing but served as a daily reminder to be PATIENT. I've been running an old iPhone on T-Mobile, and despite the fact I've been dying to get an iPhone 5, I just couldn't sign up for a contract AT&T due to the tone of these silly commercials.

And patience paid off! T-Mobile just announced the iPhone 5 coming in early April. Thanks AT&T!!! Your "memorable" commercials actually help the competition! :)
